The amphitheater on Mount Jeżowa, Łącko

On the slope of Mount Jeżowa, at an altitude of 546 metres above sea level, lies one of the most atmospheric open-air amphitheatres in Poland. Here, surrounded by mountains and orchards, cultural events take place that attract thousands of visitors from all over Lesser Poland and beyond.

What to see and experience

The stage design refers to the traditional architecture of the region. The audience is seated on the natural slope, providing excellent visibility. The Jeżowa Amphitheatre is famous for its superb acoustics. The facility undergoes regular renovations, the most recent one completed in 2022. It included the restoration of wooden elements and the installation of cameras for online streaming.

The biggest event held in the amphitheatre is the Blossom Festival of the Apple Tree, organized since 1947. Each year, when stars of Polish music perform on stage, the Jeżowa Amphitheatre is literally bursting at the seams. The two-day programme includes performances of regional ensembles, concerts of well-known artists, brass band shows, and night-time dance parties.

The best time to visit

May is the perfect time to visit, as it is when the Apple Blossom Festival takes place and the surrounding orchards turn into seas of white flowers. September, on the other hand, offers the Fruit Harvest Festival. During these events, you can taste regional delicacies at village stalls, watch handicraft shows, and take part in a colourful parade.

Practical information

Admission to events at the amphitheatre is free. The Jeżowa Amphitheatre is located close to the centre of Łącko and can only be reached on foot. Access by car is not possible, as the road leading to the venue is closed to vehicles. The route to the amphitheatre follows an asphalt road. The ascent is gentle, and the walk takes about 15 minutes. The road starts at the Sports and Entertainment Hall in Łącko and is well signposted. The walk to the amphitheatre is also easy for people with disabilities and families with children.
